About the Role
DigitalOcean is hiring a Senior Cloud Support Engineer to join the Cloud Support Core Team. You will support DigitalOcean's global customer base by resolving technical issues and helping customers optimize their cloud experience. This position involves deep Linux expertise, incident management, customer advocacy, and mentoring junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues involving Droplets, Load Balancers, VPC, DNS, Block Storage, and Object Storage (Spaces).
• Provide excellent technical support with a focus on SLA, CSAT, and productivity KPIs.
• Communicate incident updates and resolutions clearly with customers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product) to improve customer support systems.
• Onboard, mentor, and train new and associate support engineers.
• Contribute to incident postmortems, documentation, and knowledge base development.
• Advocate for customer needs across internal teams.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong expertise in Linux (Debian, Ubuntu) system administration.
• Hands-on experience in cloud platforms (DigitalOcean, AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Deep understanding of APIs, networking protocols (HTTP, DNS, SSL/TLS), and cloud storage systems.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting tools (cURL, dig, traceroute, etc.).
• Technical experience with Django, cPanel, WordPress, Node.js.
• Familiarity with CRM tools (Salesforce, Jira).
• Certifications like CompTIA Linux+, Network+, or Cloud+ are a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Prior experience in customer success, technical support, or solutions engineering.
