Role Overview: Associate Cloud Support Engineer

As a part of DigitalOcean’s Cloud Support Core Team, you’ll deliver technical support to global customers using cloud infrastructure services including Droplets, Load Balancers, VPC, Block Storage, and Spaces. You’ll work with a variety of open-source technologies and handle real-world problems in Linux systems and networking.

Key Responsibilities

• Address and resolve technical support tickets and maintain high-quality customer experience.
• Troubleshoot issues with Droplets, networking, storage, and cloud APIs.
• Assist with incident management, public communication during outages, and knowledge base maintenance.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to onboarding new hires.
• Work with Product and Engineering to improve support processes.
• Drive improvements in support tools, documentation, and incident response.

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong understanding of Linux (Debian, Ubuntu), networking (DNS, HTTP, SSL/TLS), and containerized apps.
• Familiarity with open-source stacks like Django, WordPress, Cpanel, and Node.js.
• Experience with troubleshooting tools: cURL, traceroute, dig, etc.
• Comfortable with Salesforce, Jira, and other CRM systems.
• Excellent communication and customer advocacy skills.
• Bonus: Certifications such as CompTIA Linux+, Cloud+, or Network+.
• Hands-on experience with cloud providers (DigitalOcean, AWS, Azure, etc.) is a plus.
