Role Overview

Deutsche Bank is hiring an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join a multi-functional engineering team. This role involves cloud engineering, automation, monitoring, and reducing TOIL through highly efficient engineering solutions. The selected candidate will be an SME in reliability, observability, and performance optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design high-reliability infrastructure architecture within an Agile environment.
• Build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring, platform management, and internal operations.
• Automate application build and deployment processes; manage deployments for test and production.
• Create, optimize, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application delivery.
• Conduct deep root-cause analysis to reduce manual efforts and operational risk.
• Identify TOIL and implement automated solutions to remove recurring operational tasks.
• Ensure the reliability of cloud-native and distributed systems using SLO/SLI/Error Budget metrics.

Required Skills & Experience (Must Have)

• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Expertise in defining SLIs, SLOs, CUJs, and Error Budgets.
• Strong knowledge of Terraform, GitHub, Docker, and IaC principles.
• Scripting skills: Python, Bash, PowerShell, Ansible.
• Experience with Kubernetes, container orchestration, and microservices workflows.
• Proven experience in reducing TOIL through automation and optimization.
• Knowledge of Git, GitHub, SonarQube, and SCM processes.
• Good understanding of ITSM processes and operational workflows.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and proactive mindset.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of build/release tools: Maven, Ant, Gradle, Puppet, Jenkins, TeamCity, uDeploy.
• Familiarity with Microservices architecture.
• Exposure to programming languages like Java or C#.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and observability tools.
• Basic knowledge of three-tier web application architecture.
