Job Title – DevOps Engineer (Associate)

This role is ideal for engineers skilled in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud-native infrastructure who want to contribute to highly secure and scalable enterprise systems.


Role Overview

As an Associate DevOps Engineer, you will take ownership of cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and automation for Deutsche Bank’s critical platforms. You will work closely with development, data, and security teams to ensure high reliability, operational excellence, and secure deployments.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Automation

  • Deploy and manage scalable GCP infrastructure: Compute Engine, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, and VPC.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or Deployment Manager to automate environment provisioning.
  • Manage containerized applications via Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring high availability and resource optimization.

CI/CD & Release Engineering

  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
  • Facilitate smooth environment promotions across Development, Testing, and Production.

Reliability & Security

  • Monitor system health, performance, and uptime with Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, and Error Reporting.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and incident response to improve system reliability.
  • Implement enterprise-grade security practices: IAM roles, service accounts, secrets management, VPC policies, and encryption.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: DevOps/SRE experience focusing on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation).
  • Strong knowledge of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes/GKE).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and GitHub/GitHub Actions.
  • Understanding of GCP security features (IAM, VPC Service Controls, encryption).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
