Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Certification in relevant technologies is a plus (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator).

Primary Skills Required:

• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and command-line tools.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Shell, or Perl.
• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS).
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Understanding of monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Splunk (optional but preferred).
• Terraform basic syntax, GitLab CI/CD configuration.
• Experience with Citrix technologies (XenApp, XenDesktop, NetScaler).
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Secondary Skills:

• Proven experience as an SRE or similar role.
• Solid understanding of software development methodologies and DevOps principles.
• Familiarity with Agile development.
• CI/CD pipeline management experience.
• Source control systems expertise (Git, SVN).
• Knowledge of security best practices.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on automation and continuous improvement.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable, highly available systems.
• Define and manage SLOs (Service Level Objectives) and SLAs (Service Level Agreements).
• Monitor system performance and proactively address bottlenecks.
• Develop and maintain monitoring tools, alerts, and dashboards.
• Conduct root cause analyses and post-incident reviews.
• Automate operational processes and repetitive tasks.
• Document system architecture, configurations, and troubleshooting guides.
• Perform capacity planning and resource optimization.
• Collaborate with Development teams to ensure reliability and performance of new features.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging SRE trends.
