Job Description:
As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at Visa, you'll play a key leadership role within the Product Reliability Engineering (PRE) team, supporting the Consumer Authentication domain. You'll be responsible for availability, performance, monitoring, change management, capacity planning, automation, and mentoring junior team members. The role demands hands-on technical expertise along with strategic project leadership.

Responsibilities:

• Provide 24/7 expert-level application support, including on-call rotation
• Implement and lead proactive maintenance and config updates
• Develop advanced automation and process improvement tools
• Understand application architecture and transaction flows for deep-level troubleshooting
• Remediate cybersecurity risks and oversee patching processes
• Lead complex problem identification and resolution
• Manage product lifecycle within PRE and provide strategic direction
• Drive secure, minimal-risk code deployments
• Act as senior change approver and compliance reviewer
• Collaborate with DevSecOps and guide cross-functional technical initiatives
• Ensure 99.99% system uptime through proper observability controls
• Mentor junior engineers and foster continuous learning

Must Have Skills:

• Advanced Linux/Unix administration and network troubleshooting via CLI
• Enterprise application support on Java/Tomcat
• Expertise in Splunk, Grafana, HTTP/S, SSL/TLS, DNS
• Proficiency in automation tools: Ansible, PowerShell, Bash, Python
• Deep understanding of HA models, load balancing (f5-GTM, LTM), proxies
• Kubernetes administration (scaling, orchestration, deployments)
• JVM tuning, thread/heap dump analysis
• Leadership in driving strategic technical initiatives
