Job Summary
As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at Visa, you’ll support business-critical systems and ensure the availability, security, and scalability of applications that handle trillions in transaction value. You will collaborate with development, observability, and infrastructure teams to drive performance and resilience while implementing the latest in GenAI and automation practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform production support, maintenance, and incident resolution for applications and APIs.
• Monitor and analyze systems proactively to detect and resolve issues.
• Partner with engineering and product teams for continuous improvements.
• Automate repetitive tasks to reduce operational overhead.
• Participate in troubleshooting, SWAT calls, and on-call rotations.
• Document operational procedures and contribute to knowledge repositories.
• Implement observability tools like OIP, FIT, and anomaly detection systems.
• Support hybrid work schedules and weekend/holiday shifts as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree OR 1–3 years of experience in a relevant role.
• Programming skills in Java, .NET, Python, C#, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Experience with MSSQL, MySQL, and writing basic queries.
• Basic exposure to CI/CD tools like Jenkins and Chef.
• Understanding of networking, incident management, and change control (ITIL).
• Familiarity with Kafka, Hazelcast, Qlik, Kubernetes.
• Monitoring and logging tools: Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.
• Prior exposure to AI/ML tools for enhancing resiliency is a plus.
• Strong documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.

• Supporting transaction processing or API-based applications.
• Building tools to automate production support.
• Experience in 15x7 support or shift-based environments.
• Exposure to hybrid infrastructure and container orchestration systems.
