Job Description

Visa’s Payment Digitization Platform is seeking a passionate software engineer to advance our platform. You will be part of a talented team working on mission-critical Java/Java EE applications throughout the full software development lifecycle — from concept and design to testing and support.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage in technical design based on use cases and business requirements
• Complete proofs of concept and evaluate technologies, designs, and solutions
• Contribute to detailed design and use case documentation
• Collaborate with internal teams to solve complex technical issues
• Analyze and propose improvements to solution architecture and design
• Adhere to and contribute to best practices, guidelines, and standards
• Present complex technical concepts clearly to peers
• Incorporate Visa’s business vision, environment, and technology trends into solutions
• Hybrid work arrangement; office days confirmed by Hiring Manager

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree OR 0-2 years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• Hands-on experience designing and developing applications with Java EE platforms
• Strong understanding of object-oriented analysis, design patterns, and SOLID principles
• Familiarity with test-driven development
• Creative, proactive problem-solving skills with urgency
• Customer-focused with excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Experience collaborating with solution analysts, QA, architects, and other stakeholders
• Ability to estimate efforts for change and new projects
• Skilled at managing multiple projects and priorities
• Comfortable working in dynamic, matrixed, and regulated environments
• Experience working across cultures and time zones
