Role Overview

As a DevOps Engineer at Synopsys, you will manage build and release processes, automate software delivery pipelines, and maintain scalable development environments across Linux and Windows platforms. Key Responsibilities

Build & Release Engineering

• Manage all phases of build, release, and environment management for distributed teams.
• Automate build processes and integrate with CI tools such as Azure DevOps.
• Prepare, configure, and maintain build agents for scalable software delivery.
• Investigate build failures, including compilation and linker errors.

DevOps & Environment Management

• Deploy and support modern development environments including Visual Studio, compilers, IDEs, and MPI.
• Maintain, monitor, document, and test product builds and packaging on Windows and Linux systems.
• Update third-party dependencies to keep environments secure and current.
• Maintain internal testing tools and test-result databases.

Automation & Troubleshooting

• Script automation using Python, Bash, Windows batch scripting, and Perl.
• Troubleshoot issues across development, testing, and production environments.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, IT, and development teams to optimize workflows.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Adapt build systems to evolving product requirements.
• Support distributed engineering teams with reliable DevOps infrastructure.
• Drive process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce manual effort.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Experience building software (C/C++/Fortran) on Linux and Windows.
• Strong scripting skills in Python and shell scripting.
• Experience with build systems such as Makefiles, SCons, or CMake.
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar CI tools.
• Knowledge of MySQL or PostgreSQL databases.
• Familiarity with Visual Studio, Intel, and GCC compilers.
• Proficiency in Git and configuration management tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
