About the Job

The IT Public Cloud team at Red Hat is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer to design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure for scalable, secure, and highly available applications. In this role, you will work closely with system and cloud engineers to understand platform requirements and implement enterprise-grade cloud solutions.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with major cloud providers, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) expertise, and a passion for automation.

What You Will Do

• Deploy and manage cloud environments (AWS, IBM Cloud, Azure, GCP) for reliability and cost efficiency.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure automation using Ansible Automation Platform and Terraform.
• Implement cloud security practices, IAM policies, network security, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Set up observability tools (e.g., Splunk) to monitor cloud services and troubleshoot performance.
• Work with development, security, and operations teams to align cloud solutions with business needs.
• Investigate and resolve cloud infrastructure issues to ensure high availability.
• Mentor peers through knowledge sharing and collaboration.
• Participate in a regular on-call schedule to support tenant operations.

What You Will Bring

• 3-5 years of experience in cloud management, DevOps, or system administration.
• Expertise in AWS, IBM Cloud, GCP, Azure, or similar cloud providers.
• Strong experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, and configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation.
• Experience with enterprise monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus, Splunk).
• Knowledge of cloud networking (VPCs, subnets, firewalls) and security practices (IAM, encryption, SIEM).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and experience working with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a global team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, or Google Cloud Associate Engineer.
• Experience with hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
• Familiarity with serverless computing (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, GCP Cloud Functions).
