Team Overview

The Cloud Operations team at PowerSchool manages and supports all platform infrastructure—hardware, software, operating systems, and PowerSchool products. This collaborative organization focuses on customer data security, cloud infrastructure reliability, and high-performance educational technology.

This role is responsible for deploying, monitoring, and maintaining secure hosted assets for PowerSchool customers globally.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, manage, and optimize cloud infrastructure and services.
• Ensure availability, performance, and security of cloud-based applications and resources.
• Monitor, investigate, and resolve incidents and security events using EDR tools like CrowdStrike.
• Execute ticket triage, problem resolution, and application troubleshooting for cloud systems.
• Perform daily system administration tasks to ensure Windows and Linux servers remain operational.
• Install and configure highly available cloud-based software and customer environments.
• Monitor application and infrastructure issues to maintain high availability, optimal performance, and system responsiveness.
• Operate and maintain orchestration routines in production.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and automation for software updates and OS patching.
• Participate in after-hours maintenance, incident response, and 24/7 on-call support as required.

Job Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with 2+ years of relevant work experience.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in server administration and cloud deployment (Windows/Linux).
• Experience with automated OS patching, vulnerability scanning, and cloud infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Salt, CloudFormation, ARM Templates.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Travis, Bamboo.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills across cloud applications and supporting infrastructure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1-3 years professional experience handling security events and cloud monitoring.
• Experience with Enhanced Data and Remediation (EDR) tools like CrowdStrike.
