Job Overview

Akamai Technologies is building a next-generation public cloud platform. We are hiring a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to contribute to the foundation of our cloud infrastructure, focusing on Linux systems, automation, reliability engineering, and secure cloud services.

Key Responsibilities

• Automate and manage Linux-based platform services (DNS, PKI, observability, secure access, service discovery).
• Troubleshoot and optimize infrastructure performance for scalability and security.
• Assist in engineering OS upgrades, diagnostics, and high-availability solutions.
• Contribute to early-stage cloud build-out with Python, Terraform, and Ansible/SaltStack automation.
• Participate in incident response and reliability improvement practices.
• Learn directly from senior engineers and grow toward higher SRE levels.

Required Skills

• Linux Administration & Troubleshooting – Strong hands-on experience is a must.
• Scripting & Automation – Intermediate Python skills with Terraform, Ansible, or SaltStack.
• Knowledge of Cloud Infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) and observability tools.
• Passion for automation, system reliability, and continuous learning.
