Role Overview

As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), you will ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of Akamai’s critical systems and services. You will work as part of a global SRE team, monitoring production environments, troubleshooting issues, and implementing automation to maintain platform stability.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and operate network devices including Cisco and Juniper systems
• Monitor production environments and respond to alerts promptly
• Identify and implement platform improvements through automation and new technologies
• Troubleshoot and support customer-facing and platform-related issues
• Participate in on-call rotations with the SRE team
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure reliable and scalable software delivery
• Maintain documentation for systems, processes, and incident resolutions

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with IPSec Site-to-Site VPNs (Juniper/Cisco)
• Hands-on expertise with Routing, Switching, Data Center, and Service Provider technologies: BGP, ISIS/OSPF, EVPN, VXLAN, LDP, RSVP, MPLS
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python or Ansible
• Familiarity with monitoring tools: OpenNMS, Nagios, Grafana
• Knowledge of firewalls: Cisco ASA, Juniper SRX
• Basic troubleshooting skills for Linux and Windows environments
• Mobility or Telco experience is a plus but not mandatory
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative environment
