Canonical is Hiring: Software Engineer - L3 Support

Location: Remote (Asia Pacific, Hyderabad)
Experience: Experience with Linux and open source software

What You’ll Do:

  • Resolve complex customer issues related to Ubuntu, Kernel, Ceph, OpenStack, Kubernetes, and other open-source software
  • Work with the engineering teams to drive upstream bug fixes
  • Participate in upstream open-source communities
  • Review and backport patches
  • Collaborate with teams to improve processes, tools, and documentation
  • Travel internationally up to 10% of the time for team events and conferences

What We Are Looking for in You:

  • Educational Background: Computer Science, STEM, or similar
  • Experience: Familiarity with Linux, open-source software, and coding in Python, Go, C, or C++
  • Skills: A passion for troubleshooting complex issues in Linux-based infrastructure
  • Desirable: Willingness to learn about Ubuntu Linux, Kubernetes, OpenStack, Ceph, LXC, and distributed systems

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Enjoys working in a tech-driven team
  • Curious, flexible, and highly self-motivated
  • Passion for open-source technologies
