Role Overview:
We are hiring an Associate Linux Support Engineer to deliver enterprise-grade technical support for customers leveraging Ubuntu and open-source platforms. This position offers hands-on exposure to Linux server administration, cloud infrastructure troubleshooting, and containerization technologies while working alongside some of the most talented engineers in the open-source industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide remote technical support for Ubuntu and other open-source technologies
  • Troubleshoot Linux kernel crashes, OS configuration issues, and cloud infrastructure incidents
  • Support cloud environments including AWS, Azure, and GCP as needed
  • Manage customer cases from problem identification to resolution in accordance with SLA commitments
  • Create and maintain knowledge base articles and documentation
  • Collaborate with global engineering teams to solve complex technical challenges
  • Implement best practices for security, network performance, and system optimization
  • Participate in a weekend rotation to provide 24/7 support coverage

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong academic background in Computer Science, MIS, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • Hands-on experience with Linux troubleshooting (logs, stack traces, configuration files)
  • Knowledge of at least two of the following:
    • Linux server administration
    • Networking (firewalling, bonding, bridging, MTU, NFS tuning)
    • Programming in Bash, Python, Go, Perl, or similar
    • Virtualization/Cloud (KVM, VMware, provisioning, orchestration)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, distributed environment

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with virtualization platforms (KVM, VMware, VirtualBox)
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Contributions to open-source communities or projects
