Job Description:
Canonical, the publisher of Ubuntu and a global leader in open-source enterprise software, is looking for passionate engineers eager to start or grow a career in Linux support, cloud infrastructure, and open source technologies.

This is a remote tech role offering exposure to AI, IoT, and cloud computing platforms. As part of the support engineering team, you’ll troubleshoot issues, configure systems, and ensure high-performance service delivery to global enterprise clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert technical support on Ubuntu Linux servers, desktops, and IoT devices
  • Diagnose and resolve complex software, network, and cloud issues
  • Interact directly with customers via email, phone, and support portals
  • Document solutions and contribute to internal/external knowledge bases
  • Participate in global team sprints and collaborate with remote colleagues
  • Draft technical advisories and service notices for clients

Skills Required:

  • Solid understanding of Linux administration and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with at least two of the following:
    • Scripting (Bash, Python, Go, Perl)
    • Virtualization (KVM, VMware)
    • Networking concepts
    • Cloud infrastructure (AWS, OpenStack, etc.)
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and communication skills
  • Willingness to travel internationally 2–4 times a year
  • Fluent in English

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in virtualization or cloud platforms
  • Contributions to open-source projects or Linux communities
  • Customer-facing or support engineering experience
