Job Description:
American Express is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer to be part of the AWS/Azure Platform Engineering Team. The role involves building and managing Public, Private, and Hybrid cloud infrastructure in a highly heterogeneous environment.

Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver backend services in a hybrid cloud model (PaaS/IaaS/CICD).
• Manage cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and private cloud environments.
• Work with API & integration patterns for secure backend communication.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Ansible.
• Deploy and monitor services running on Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and best practices in cloud operations.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with external teams.
• Follow Agile delivery processes.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with automated build/test frameworks.
• Knowledge of Python, NoSQL databases, Kafka, Couchbase, and Redis is a plus.
• Understanding of network security and application security.
