Job Description
Virtusa is seeking an experienced SRE to support and maintain high-availability systems hosted on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and private clouds. You'll help improve infrastructure reliability, build observability systems, and automate deployment pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational support and administration for GCP and private cloud environments
- Manage Kubernetes clusters, including monitoring and remediation
- Automate deployments and create self-healing workflows using telemetry
- Ensure observability through metrics and logs using GCP-native tools
- Define SLIs and configure SLOs; respond to alerts and optimize monitoring
- Debug application issues across infrastructure and configuration layers
- Implement SRE practices for daily operations, capacity planning, and forecasting
- Develop PoC solutions integrating AI models for event correlation and triaging
- Ensure disaster recovery and regional failover strategies are in place
- Handle 24x7 on-desk shift operations (must work in-office)
Required Skills
- Expertise in GCP services: GKE, IAM, Container Registry, Helm, Load Balancing, Cloud SQL
- Solid understanding of Kubernetes and Docker
- Proficiency with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Familiarity with observability tools and logs/metrics integration
- ITSM tools experience: ServiceNow or Remedy
- Strong scripting capabilities for automation and workflow optimization
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a collaborative attitude
