Internship Overview

The Cloud Solutions Internship is a 10-week hybrid program (June – August 2026) designed to immerse students in meaningful projects that deliver real business impact. Interns will gain hands-on experience in cloud architecture, networking, and software engineering while working with Verizon’s global teams.

You’ll also join Verizon’s Intern Marquee Event, designed to help you sharpen professional skills, build networks, and engage with executive leaders.


Key Responsibilities

As a Cloud Solutions Intern, you may work on projects in:

  • 5G Technology and next-gen network features.
  • AR/VR, Computer Vision, and immersive technologies.
  • Cloud Architecture: Openstack, Openshift, Wind River, Kubernetes.
  • Cloud Computing: Configuring and deploying public cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Network Engineering: NFV/SDN, VPNs, storage networks.
  • Data Engineering: Databases, SQL, JSON/YAML formats.
  • Source Control & DevOps: GitHub, CI/CD pipelines.
  • Linux, transport layer, and orchestration frameworks.

Required Qualifications

  • Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Systems, IT, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
  • Expected graduation: December 2028 – June 2029.
  • Ability to participate full-time in the hybrid 10-week internship (June–August 2026).
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without future sponsorship.
  • Willingness to relocate and travel if required.

Preferred Skills

  • Coursework or experience with Python, Java, or scripting languages.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Kubernetes/Docker.
  • Exposure to Kafka, Spark, Flink, or event-driven design.
  • Experience with GitHub, data formats (JSON/YAML), and databases (SQL).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Suite.
