Job Overview – Associate DevOps Engineer

Thomson Reuters is hiring an Associate DevOps Engineer to join its global technology operations team in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
This team supports applications built both on-premises and in AWS, ensuring reliability, scalability, and continuous delivery for enterprise-level systems in the Research Products segment.

This position offers a hybrid work model, combining flexibility, innovation, and hands-on exposure to cloud and DevOps technologies.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform change management functions for software deployments and server maintenance.
  • Plan and coordinate changes with other technology teams.
  • Monitor and mitigate incidents in real-time and document root causes.
  • Participate in post-incident reviews and process improvement activities.
  • Communicate and escalate customer-impacting issues following department protocols.
  • Represent operations teams in technical discussions with leadership and development.
  • Lead projects to improve stability, scalability, and reliability of the production environment.
  • Partner with developers to enhance monitoring, automation, and deployment processes.
  • Maintain and update support documentation and operational playbooks.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or technical certification in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
  • 0–3 years of experience in DevOps, cloud operations, or system administration.
  • Strong understanding of AWS services (EC2, ECS, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda, CloudFormation).
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools such as GitHub, Terraform, Tomcat, Datadog.
  • Knowledge of Linux/Windows administration, networking, and database management.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies and ITIL Change/Incident Management.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in rotational or night shifts (7 PM–4 AM or 6 PM–3 AM IST).

Preferred Experience

  • Prior experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation scripting, and cloud deployment.
  • Exposure to SRE principles and infrastructure as code practices.
  • Experience working in global enterprise environments.

The DevOps Engineering Team at Thomson Reuters manages reliability engineering, build and deployment processes, incident response, and compliance for products built with Java, Linux, Microsoft, relational databases, and AWS Cloud Services.

This role provides a hands-on opportunity to support large-scale systems, optimize cloud performance, and drive automation in a DevOps culture.
