About the Role

Johnson Controls is looking for an R&D Engineer – Generative AI to drive innovation and develop AI-powered solutions. This role involves working on cutting-edge Generative AI, data science, and cloud computing projects to enhance smart and connected building solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Generative AI solutions for innovative use cases.
• Collaborate with R&D leadership and engineering teams on prototypes and proof of concepts.
• Stay updated on AI trends and apply insights to real-world challenges.
• Evaluate technology options and their impact on cost and performance.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or Engineering.
• Experience: 2+ years of programming (Python, JavaScript, C#).
• Hands-on expertise in Generative AI, including prompt engineering, RAG, and vector databases.
• Strong software development skills with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure).
• Analytical thinking and excellent presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Experience in tech/product-driven environments or startups.
• Knowledge of rapid prototyping, cloud/edge computing, and IoT.
