Role: DevOps Engineer

Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka (Remote – Nationwide)

As a DevOps Engineer at Empower, you will design, automate, and operate AWS-native cloud infrastructure that powers large-scale financial platforms. You will work with a high-impact cloud engineering team focused on automation, scalability, and security — enabling developers to build reliable, high-performing systems faster.

This is a remote-first opportunity, open to talented engineers across India and global locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Automate and manage AWS cloud infrastructure using Terraform, AWS CDK, and CloudFormation.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Java and Python applications using modern DevOps tools.
• Drive automation-first operations, optimizing cost and system reliability.
• Collaborate with development teams to enhance developer experience, scalability, and observability.
• Implement security best practices for IAM, networking, and data protection.
• Monitor and improve application performance using CloudWatch, QuickSight, ECS/EKS, and Lambda.
• Participate in on-call support rotation to maintain uptime and resolve production incidents.
• Continuously evaluate emerging DevOps tools to improve efficiency and resilience.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or System Administration.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services – EC2, S3, IAM, RDS, Lambda, ECS/EKS, and CloudWatch.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Java for automation and service integration.
• Experience using Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Expertise in Linux administration and shell scripting.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline).
• Solid understanding of networking, security, and cloud architecture fundamentals.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Datadog, Splunk, or CloudWatch Dashboards.
• Understanding of PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and Redshift databases.
• Exposure to AI tools such as ChatGPT or cloud automation through AI.
• Strong communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
