Join Caterpillar, a global leader in building sustainable infrastructure and communities. As a Software Engineer, you will be a part of the Technology, Digital, and Data team, contributing to the creation of cutting-edge digital solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality software in alignment with specifications and design guidelines.
- Design, develop, and test applications using Java, J2EE, AJAX, Web Services.
- Analyze requirements and assess their impact on existing systems.
- Collaborate effectively with peers and leadership.
- Create scope estimates and feature specifications in coordination with team leads.
Required Skills
- Proficient in JAVA, J2EE technologies in a cloud-based environment.
- Strong knowledge in:
- JPA, Hibernate, JDBC, SQL
- Spring Boot, JUnit, JSON, REST/JSON APIs
- Experience with Azure or AWS PaaS environments.
- Familiar with services such as Kinesis, DynamoDB, ECS, Fargate, Lambda (or Azure equivalents).
- Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies.
- Deep understanding of Object-Oriented Design and MVC architecture.
- Proficient in Git (branching, tagging, merging).
Desired Skills
- Strong application design and debugging skills.
- Proficient with Java development tools (Eclipse, Maven).
- Experience incorporating security into application design.
- Capable of creating detailed technical documentation and estimating task durations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
