Role Overview: Software Engineer

Caterpillar is investing heavily in its digital future, and we're looking for talented Software Engineers to join our Digital Platform Development and Application Development teams. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects, including cloud platforms, mobile/web applications, and big data analytics, while contributing to Caterpillar’s digital transformation.

Key Responsibilities

• Work independently in a platform or application team, developing and testing components on a cloud platform.
• Build analytical models based on rich data in the Digital Platform.
• Develop and test web/mobile applications that meet Caterpillar customer needs.
• Apply new technologies and tools to improve engineering processes.
• Contribute to platform development, testing, and ongoing support.

Requirements

• Education:
  Must have completed at least 1 year of a Postgraduate degree or 3 years of an Undergraduate degree, with an academic score >75% or >7.5 CGPA.

• Background:
  Must be from Computer Science/IT background.

• Technical Skills:
  Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms. Proficiency in programming languages like Java, Python, C#, or C++. Knowledge of UI/UX design principles. Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.

• Nice to Have:
  Knowledge of Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, and Big Data concepts. Familiarity with AWS/Azure cloud tools.

• Personal Attributes:
  Passion for technology, with the ability to work in a team-oriented environment. Strong communication skills and eagerness to learn.
