We foster a culture of innovation and support professional and personal growth.

Overview of Role

66degrees’ Managed Cloud Optimization (MCO) team partners with some of the world’s largest cloud users to help them optimize their cloud operations. Our Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) combine Google Cloud Platform expertise with DevOps methodologies to maintain, optimize, and scale cloud implementations.

Our SREs work with technologies like Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Anthos, BigQuery, and tools like Prometheus and Datadog. They create automation, deploy infrastructure, and contribute to open-source projects using tools like Python and Terraform.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure near-zero downtime through monitoring, alerting, self-healing automation, and continuous improvement.
  • Design and create automated, scalable systems applying software and infrastructure principles.
  • Advise clients on DevOps and SRE principles, covering deployment pipelines, HA, service reliability, technical debt, and operational toil for live services at scale.
  • Proactively manage client workloads by anticipating failures, automating tasks, and ensuring availability and a great customer experience.
  • Collaborate with clients, your team, and Google engineers to resolve infrastructure issues.
  • Contribute to initiatives like writing documentation, open-sourcing, and improving operations.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of cloud and infrastructure experience, with expertise in Linux, Windows, Kubernetes (k8s), databases, and networking services.
  • 2+ years of experience with Google Cloud and related certifications preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in Python; other programming languages are a plus.
  • Strong provisioning and configuration skills using Terraform.
  • Experience in 24x7x365 monitoring, incident response, and on-call support.
  • Troubleshooting experience in systems, network, and code.
  • Experience with Error budgets, SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs.
  • Experience working in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Ability to balance service reliability, metrics, sustainability, technical debt, and operational toil for live services.
  • Strong communication skills, as this is a heavily customer-facing role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or equivalent.

Benefits

  • Work with a rapidly growing Google Premier Partner.
  • Flexible remote work options.
  • Collaborative team environment focused on professional development.
  • Equal opportunity employer.
