Overview of Job Function

The DevOps Software Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure, tools, and processes that enable efficient software development, deployment, and operations. This role focuses on driving collaboration between development and operations teams to optimize the software development lifecycle, enhance scalability, and improve overall system reliability.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate software build, testing, and deployment processes.
• Develop and manage infrastructure-as-code solutions to enable efficient provisioning, configuration, and scaling of servers, virtual machines, containers, and cloud platforms.
• Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve performance issues and ensure optimal system health.
• Collaborate with development teams to establish and enforce best practices for version control, branching, and code merging.
• Optimize and tune system performance by analyzing resource utilization, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing necessary improvements.
• Implement and manage containerization platforms and orchestration tools, such as Docker and Kubernetes, to enable scalable and resilient deployments.
• Collaborate with security teams to ensure adherence to security best practices and implement necessary security measures.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and compliance using tools like Ansible and Terraform.
• Drive continuous improvement by evaluating and implementing new technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance the DevOps process.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to diagnose and resolve production issues and implement preventive measures.

Qualifications

Core Experience

• Over 3+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps and Cloud engineering, specializing in designing, implementing, and managing CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and automation processes.
• Proven track record of optimizing deployment workflows, enhancing system reliability, and ensuring security compliance across various cloud platforms.

Required Skills

• Cloud: Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, EKS, ECS, etc.), Azure, or GCP.
• CI/CD Pipelines: Proficiency in implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, AWS DevOps, or Harness.
• Monitoring/Observability: Knowledge of Datadog, App Dynamics is advantageous.
• Infrastructure-as-Code: Experience with tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Containerization Technologies: Expertise in Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration.
• Scripting/Programming: Proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Configuration Management: Experience with Ansible and Terraform.
• Version Control: Familiarity with version control systems like Git or Subversion.
• Security Practices: Understanding of security best practices, compliance, and vulnerability management.
• Agile: Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
• Degree: Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
• Certifications: AWS/Azure Cloud Certification (Developer, DevOps Associate / Professional level).
