Position Overview

The Production Engineering Team at Swiggy is responsible for maintaining the key operational pillars of the organization’s cloud infrastructure — Reliability, Observability, Elasticity, Security, and Governance.

As a System Engineer I, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and operating Swiggy’s scalable cloud infrastructure. You’ll collaborate with production engineers to automate workflows, improve operational efficiency, and enhance system reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a hands-on engineer, solving operational challenges across Swiggy’s infrastructure.
• Automate operational workloads to improve efficiency and enable self-service for engineering teams.
• Collaborate closely with production engineers to simplify systems and reduce manual tasks.
• Create and maintain SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for system operations.
• Mentor junior system engineers and ensure SLA adherence.
• Contribute to an automation-first culture by leveraging cloud and DevOps tools.
• Gain in-depth visibility into Swiggy’s large-scale infrastructure operations.

Skills & Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with AWS services including IAM, S3, CodeBuild, CodePipeline, and Route53.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Understanding of AWS networking — VPCs, Load Balancers, VPC Endpoints, CloudFront, etc.
• Experience with Linux-based systems and proxy servers (HAProxy, Nginx).
• Proficiency in DevOps principles such as CI/CD, automation, and continuous monitoring.
• Ability to triage and resolve operational issues independently.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Scripting or coding skills in at least one language — Python or GoLang.
