Job Description:
Standard Chartered is seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer to lead cloud platform management, governance, and automation for AWS and Azure environments. This is a mission-critical engineering role supporting global infrastructure and regulatory compliance.

You will design and operate IaaS/PaaS cloud services, drive automation using Terraform, Azure DevOps, and scripting (Python, Golang), and ensure resilient, secure, and scalable platforms aligned with AIOps and DevSecOps principles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support AWS & Azure IaaS and PaaS platforms
• Design and manage Terraform-based infrastructure-as-code and DevOps pipelines
• Build observability dashboards, automate monitoring and incident resolution
• Ensure compliance with SCB’s governance, security, and audit frameworks
• Lead a team of Cloud Engineers handling incident, change, and problem management
• Assist internal stakeholders in migrating and re-architecting apps for the cloud
• Respond to and resolve cloud incidents, outages, and service disruptions efficiently
• Develop and enforce cloud security and patching policies
• Collaborate with risk, ITSM, architecture, and application teams

Required Skills:

• Expertise in AWS & Azure cloud services (IaaS, PaaS)
• Strong proficiency with Terraform and Azure DevOps (Repos/Pipelines)
• Advanced scripting: Python, Golang, Bash, YAML, JSON
• Kubernetes experience: AWS EKS or Azure AKS (preferred)
• Observability stack: CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, custom dashboards
• ITSM/ITOM understanding: Incident, Problem, Change management
• Strong leadership and communication abilities
• Excellent troubleshooting, debugging, and automation mindset

Certifications Preferred:

• AWS Associate/Professional
• Microsoft Azure Administrator/Architect
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
• ITIL or equivalent certification (advantageous)
