Job Description

Sporty Group is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our growing global engineering team. This is an exciting remote DevOps job for professionals passionate about cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, AWS, CI/CD automation, Linux systems administration, Infrastructure as Code, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).

As a DevOps Engineer, you will collaborate with highly skilled DevOps engineers, database administrators, software developers, and platform engineers to design, automate, optimize, and secure infrastructure supporting millions of users across multiple countries. You'll help build highly available, scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud platforms while improving deployment speed, system reliability, monitoring, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, maintain, and optimize scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS.
  • Collaborate with DevOps Engineers, DBAs, and Software Engineers across distributed teams.
  • Improve existing infrastructure deployed across multiple countries while enabling rapid expansion into new markets.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, deployment pipelines, and operational workflows.
  • Manage Kubernetes clusters and containerized applications in production environments.
  • Build, optimize, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for continuous integration and continuous deployment.
  • Monitor production environments using Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch, and automated alerting systems.
  • Improve infrastructure scalability, performance, availability, resilience, and cost optimization.
  • Troubleshoot production incidents across Linux servers, networking, Kubernetes clusters, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Implement infrastructure security best practices and support internal and external security audits.
  • Optimize cloud resource utilization to reduce operational costs.
  • Assist with cloud architecture improvements and platform modernization initiatives.
  • Maintain logging, monitoring, observability, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Mentor junior DevOps engineers and contribute to technical knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in infrastructure planning, capacity management, and operational excellence initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years of professional DevOps Engineering experience.
  • Proven experience leading infrastructure deployments and cloud migration projects.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Extensive experience managing production Kubernetes clusters.
  • Strong knowledge of Docker containerization.
  • Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Deep understanding of Linux system administration.
  • Strong networking fundamentals including:
    • TCP/IP
    • HTTP/HTTPS
    • DNS
    • Load Balancing
  • Experience with cloud monitoring and alerting solutions.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and production incident response skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
