Role Overview

Shorelight is looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer responsible for maintaining and improving highly scalable cloud infrastructure environments running on AWS and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

This role focuses on automation, infrastructure management, container orchestration, CI/CD pipelines, and production system reliability. The DevOps Engineer will work on complex distributed systems and mission-critical production environments to ensure high availability, scalability, and security.

The role involves collaboration with Agile development teams to deliver efficient and reliable cloud-based solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure Management

• Deploy, automate, and manage AWS and GCP cloud environments
• Maintain highly scalable production systems
• Extend infrastructure across multiple mission-critical environments

DevOps Automation

• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions
• Support continuous integration and continuous delivery processes

Container & Orchestration Management

• Manage containerized workloads using:
  • Docker
  • Kubernetes
  • Docker Swarm
  • OpenShift

System Reliability & Performance

• Ensure high availability, performance, scalability, and security
• Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues
• Perform pre-production acceptance testing

Security & Compliance

• Implement cloud security best practices
• Ensure compliance with Shorelight security policies

Technology Innovation

• Evaluate emerging tools and technologies
• Recommend architecture and process improvements

• Hands-on experience with:
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

AWS Services

• EC2, RDS, ELB, EBS
• S3, Glacier

Containerization & Orchestration

• Docker
• Kubernetes
• Docker Swarm / OpenShift

DevOps & Automation

• CI/CD tools such as Jenkins
• Configuration management tools:
  • Ansible
  • Puppet
  • Chef

Monitoring & Logging

• Monitoring tools such as:
  • Prometheus
  • Grafana
  • Nagios
  • Datadog
  • Zabbix
  • LogicMonitor
• Logging systems:
  • ELK / EFK Stack (Elasticsearch, Fluentd, Kibana)

Programming & Scripting

• Python
• Shell scripting
• Programming knowledge in Java or C++

Operating Systems

• Linux (RHEL / Ubuntu)

Networking
