Role Overview – Site Reliability Engineering Intern

As a Site Reliability Engineering Intern, you will work closely with CloudOps, SRE, and Software Engineering teams to support the reliability, scalability, availability, and performance of Poshmark’s production systems.

This internship is designed to help you build a strong foundation in Site Reliability Engineering principles, including monitoring, alerting, automation, incident response, and cloud operations.

6-Month Internship Learning & Accomplishments

• Gain in-depth understanding of large-scale SaaS platforms and cloud infrastructure
• Learn core SRE concepts: monitoring, observability, alerting, SLIs, SLOs, and incident response
• Hands-on exposure to AWS cloud services and DevOps tooling
• Build or enhance automation scripts, dashboards, and internal engineering tools
• Work on guided mini-projects with senior Site Reliability Engineers
• Observe on-call workflows, incident management, and post-incident analysis
• Develop strong documentation and operational knowledge for production systems

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring system health, uptime, latency, and performance metrics
• Support senior engineers in deploying, maintaining, and scaling cloud infrastructure
• Create and maintain dashboards, alerts, and operational runbooks
• Participate in basic troubleshooting of production issues
• Collaborate with development teams to understand application behavior and system dependencies
• Follow best practices for security, automation, and reliability engineering
