Job Summary
We are hiring a Site Reliability Engineer I (SRE I) to support the reliability, scalability, availability, and performance of Phenom’s cloud-native SaaS platform. This role is ideal for engineers early in their SRE / DevOps / Cloud Infrastructure career who are passionate about automation, observability, CI/CD reliability, and large-scale distributed systems.

You will learn and apply core Site Reliability Engineering principles including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, incident management, and toil reduction.

Key Responsibilities – Reliability & Observability

• Assist in defining, tracking, and monitoring Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs)
• Support error budget monitoring to balance feature velocity and platform stability
• Build and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Tempo, and Alertmanager
• Analyze system metrics to improve cloud performance and availability

Key Responsibilities – Automation & Operations

• Develop automation scripts to reduce manual toil and improve system recovery
• Support deployment automation, scaling, and failover mechanisms
• Assist in capacity planning and performance optimization
• Contribute to infrastructure reliability improvements across environments

Key Responsibilities – Incident & CI/CD Support

• Participate in on-call rotations and assist in incident resolution
• Contribute to blameless postmortems and root cause analysis (RCA)
• Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines for low-risk, reliable production deployments
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve fault tolerance and operational readiness

Required Qualifications – Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field

Required Qualifications – Experience

• 1–3 years of experience in SRE, DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, or Platform Engineering
• Exposure to managing production workloads in a cloud environment

Technical Skills – Required

• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, preferably on AWS (EKS)
• Working knowledge of AWS services: EC2, S3, RDS, CloudWatch
• Experience with observability tools: Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Tempo
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar
• Scripting experience using Python, Bash, or Go
• Understanding of networking fundamentals, load balancing, and cloud-native architectures

Technical Skills – Nice to Have

• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible
• Experience supporting high-availability SaaS platforms
• Familiarity with distributed systems and microservices architectures
