Role Overview

Lenskart is looking for high-caliber DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Platform Engineers who bring strong engineering fundamentals and a deep sense of ownership.

Engineers in this role will design, build, and operate cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes platforms, CI/CD systems, and observability frameworks to enable scalable, reliable, and secure production systems. You will collaborate with product teams, architects, and security engineers to deliver platforms that support rapid development, safe deployments, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Platform & Cloud Engineering

• Design and operate cloud-native infrastructure platforms
• Build reusable infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Manage Kubernetes clusters, networking, and service orchestration
• Improve developer productivity through platform automation

Reliability Engineering

• Define and manage SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response
• Write Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports for production incidents
• Reduce operational toil through automation and engineering improvements

CI/CD & DevOps Automation

• Build secure and automated CI/CD pipelines using GitOps principles
• Enable frequent and reliable production deployments
• Collaborate with development teams to embed reliability and operational best practices

Observability & Monitoring

• Implement logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting systems
• Build dashboards and monitoring frameworks
• Ensure alerts are actionable and aligned with system health
• Develop runbooks and self-healing operational workflows

Architecture & Collaboration

• Work with software engineers, architects, and security teams
• Review infrastructure designs for scalability, resilience, and cost efficiency
• Promote DevOps, SRE, and cloud-native best practices across teams

Technical Skills Required

Core Engineering

• Strong fundamentals in Linux operating systems
• Knowledge of networking concepts such as DNS and TCP/IP
• Understanding of distributed systems architecture
• Programming experience in Python or Go

Cloud & Containers

• Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Exposure to Google Cloud Platform or Microsoft Azure
• Strong production experience with Kubernetes clusters
• Experience managing containerized workloads

Infrastructure & Automation

• Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
• Configuration management using Chef or Ansible
• Experience with GitOps workflows

CI/CD Platforms

• Experience with ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI
• Knowledge of automated deployment pipelines

Observability & Reliability

• Monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Alertmanager
• Tracing and APM tools like Datadog, New Relic, or OpenTelemetry
• Incident management using PagerDuty or similar systems

Data & Messaging (Working Knowledge)

• Databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB
• Messaging systems such as Kafka
• Search and analytics platforms like Elasticsearch
• Caching technologies like Redis

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
• Strong academic grounding in operating systems, networking, distributed systems, and cloud computing

Preferred Certifications

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect
• AWS DevOps Engineer Certification
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA / CKAD)
• Terraform Certification

Nice to Have

• Experience building internal developer platforms
• Knowledge of DevSecOps and cloud security practices
• Experience operating high-traffic consumer platforms
• Strong documentation skills including design docs, RFCs, and operational runbooks
