Job Overview
HSBC is hiring a Software Engineer with a focus on Linux Application Support. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting critical applications hosted on Linux platforms, ensuring system reliability, automation, and performance optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide application support for Linux-hosted systems.
• Monitor system health and ensure high availability of hosted applications.
• Automate recurring tasks using shell scripting (e.g., Bash, Python).
• Troubleshoot issues and collaborate with developers for resolution.
• Perform patching, backups, and updates for platform security.
• Manage configurations, logs, and dependencies.
• Document support workflows and configuration settings.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong proficiency with Linux (e.g., Red Hat).
• Scripting experience in Bash or Python.
• Knowledge of web servers like Apache or Nginx.
• Familiarity with databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Understanding of networking (TCP/IP, firewalls).
• Strong communication and troubleshooting skills.
• Preferred: Experience with Docker, Kubernetes.
• Preferred: Knowledge of automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, or Chef).
