🔹 About the Role:

HSBC, one of the world’s largest banking and financial services organizations, is hiring a Senior Software Engineer specializing in DevOps, SQL, and ETL for their Pune-based technology team. The ideal candidate will manage service reliability, CI/CD pipelines, and large-scale data flows within a cloud-native architecture.

This role combines responsibilities in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), DevOps practices, ETL pipelines, and observability tools.


🔹 Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and meet SLOs and SLAs across services and regulatory systems
  • Handle incident, change, release, and risk management
  • Review hardware/software lifecycle and remediation planning
  • Improve and maintain CI/CD tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Nexus, Ansible, G3
  • Sustain service performance and plan for capacity funding
  • Automate processes to clean up inactive users, roles, and datasets
  • Manage ETL pipelines (Datastage) and optimize Teradata SQL queries
  • Implement observability and monitoring aligned with SRE principles
  • Comfortable working in UK business hours

🔹 Required Skills:

  • 5+ years in IT production support or platform engineering
  • Strong experience with SQL, Teradata, and ETL tools (Datastage)
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automation, and DevOps workflows
  • Experience with tools: GitHub, Jenkins, Nexus, G3, Ansible, TSCO
  • Familiarity with Shell scripting and GCP infrastructure
  • Deep understanding of SLA, SLI, SLO, and SRE best practices
