Job Description

D. E. Shaw Group is seeking bright and exceptional programmers to join their Software Development teams. The role involves catering to trading desk needs and participating in research, design, development, and standardization of firm-wide technologies.

Responsibilities

• Execute individual projects and deliverables in collaboration with business groups
• Perform R&D to evaluate and implement appropriate technologies
• Resolve application and data issues in production within timelines
• Drive complete project lifecycles from requirement analysis to deployment
• Provide direction and guidance to junior team members
• Participate actively in code and design reviews

Skills Required

• Strong experience in C++/Java/Python
• Knowledge of React, Redux, RESTful Web Services, Perl, messaging middleware, and SQL databases
• Added advantage for experience with Spring, Mybatis/iBatis/Hibernate, jQuery, JavaScript, and deployment architecture
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong reasoning ability and interpersonal communication skills
• Inclination or prior experience in project or people management
