Role Overview

Hexagon US Federal is seeking a DevOps Engineering Intern to join its engineering team and gain practical experience in automation, infrastructure management, and DevOps development workflows.

During the internship, you will work on CI/CD pipeline optimization, infrastructure automation, cloud deployment processes, and monitoring systems while collaborating with development, security, and operations teams.

This role provides hands-on experience with modern DevOps tools, automation frameworks, and cloud infrastructure technologies, helping candidates develop strong expertise in software delivery automation and infrastructure management.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines for automated software deployment
• Assist in building infrastructure automation scripts and DevOps tooling
• Support cloud deployment processes and infrastructure management
• Work with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Bicep
• Assist in implementing monitoring and logging systems using Prometheus and Grafana
• Conduct research on new DevOps tools, automation frameworks, and best practices
• Collaborate with developers, security teams, and IT operations teams to ensure seamless deployments
• Help document DevOps processes, infrastructure architecture, and automation workflows
• Support improvements in software delivery efficiency and system reliability

Technical Skills Required

DevOps & CI/CD

• Understanding of DevOps lifecycle and CI/CD pipeline automation
• Knowledge of deployment automation and DevOps tooling

Infrastructure as Code

• Familiarity with Terraform, Ansible, or Bicep

Eligibility Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree program
• Ability to work 40 hours per week during the internship period
• Located near Chantilly, Virginia or surrounding areas
• Ability to work in a hybrid/onsite work environment
