Role Overview

Growloc is looking for a motivated Junior DevOps Engineer with hands-on experience in AWS cloud services, Kubernetes container orchestration, Infrastructure as Code, and cloud observability.

The role involves managing cloud infrastructure, optimizing AWS resources, automating deployments, and improving system reliability. This is an excellent opportunity for engineers who want to grow into DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) roles while working on real-world cloud infrastructure and IoT-based platforms.

Key Responsibilities

AWS Cloud Operations

• Manage and maintain AWS infrastructure including EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, RDS, EKS, and CloudWatch
• Optimize AWS configurations for cost efficiency and performance
• Implement cloud security best practices such as IAM policies, KMS encryption, and security groups
• Monitor and maintain cloud resources, logs, and infrastructure health

Kubernetes & Containerization

• Work with Docker containers and Kubernetes clusters (EKS preferred)
• Deploy, debug, and upgrade services using Helm charts
• Implement best practices such as auto-scaling, resource limits, and cluster networking
• Maintain reliable containerized microservices environments

Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

• Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform
• Create reusable infrastructure modules
• Maintain version-controlled infrastructure using Git/GitHub workflows

CI/CD & Automation

• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins
• Automate application deployments and environment setup
• Write automation scripts using Bash, Python, or Go

Observability & Monitoring

• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems
• Build dashboards and alerts using modern observability tools
• Improve system reliability and incident response

Cloud Networking & Security

• Work with cloud networking concepts including DNS, routing, and firewalls
• Implement Zero Trust architecture and least-privilege access policies
• Maintain strong network security and infrastructure hygiene

Technical Skills Required

Cloud Platforms

• Strong hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Experience with EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, RDS, CloudWatch, and EKS

Containerization & Orchestration

• Hands-on experience with Docker
• Knowledge of Kubernetes cluster management (EKS preferred)

Infrastructure as Code

• Practical experience using Terraform
• Understanding of modular infrastructure design

CI/CD & Automation

• Experience building CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge of Git workflows and automation scripting

Programming & Scripting

• Experience with Bash scripting
• Knowledge of Python or Go programming

Networking & Security

• Understanding of DNS, routing, firewalls, and cloud networking
• Basic knowledge of cloud security practices

Nice to Have

• Experience with AWS Cost Explorer and Trusted Advisor
• Knowledge of cost optimization practices
• Exposure to GitOps tools such as ArgoCD or Flux
• Experience with CloudFront, WAF, and serverless architectures
• Knowledge of S3 lifecycle policies and CDN architectures

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
