Position Summary:

A DevOps Engineer at Zoetis will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based infrastructure and deployment pipelines to facilitate smooth application development and delivery. The role involves automating build, release, and deployment processes using Azure DevOps tools, managing infrastructure as code (IaC) with tools such as ARM templates, Terraform, or Bicep, and ensuring system scalability, security, and reliability.

As a DevOps Engineer, you will monitor, optimize, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with Azure resources, ensuring high availability and performance. Collaboration with development and operations teams to streamline workflows, enforce best practices, and enhance system performance will be essential. Additionally, staying updated on Azure advancements will be a key part of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and manage CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes using tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Azure Pipelines.
• Configure, manage, and optimize Azure resources like VMs, Storage, Networking, Kubernetes clusters, and other Azure services.
• Set up proactive monitoring and alerting tools to detect performance issues, security threats, and system failures, ensuring timely responses and high application availability.
• Automate build, testing, release, and deployment pipelines to streamline the development lifecycle and ensure smooth application deployment to both cloud and on-premises environments.
• Monitor cloud-based infrastructure and deployed applications to ensure optimal performance, cost efficiency, and address performance bottlenecks for enhanced scalability and response time.
• Adopt and implement security best practices to ensure secure deployment and management of applications on Azure and SAP Commerce Cloud.
• Collaborate with internal teams to assist with Azure resource setup and managing Azure Active Directory (AAD) permissions.
• Manage database backups and develop comprehensive disaster recovery plans to ensure data protection and continuity.
• Optimize Azure SQL Database performance, collaborating with DBAs for efficient indexing, query tuning, and resource optimization.
• Configure and manage monitoring tools like Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics, and Kusto Queries to optimize performance monitoring, diagnostics, and data analysis.
• Install and configure SAP Commerce Cloud environments (cloud and on-premises setups).
• Manage secure communications using SSL/TLS and encryption keys for data protection.
• Configure and manage role-based access control (RBAC) for user permissions within the cloud platform.
• Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues related to APIs, middleware, or third-party applications, ensuring smooth system operations.
• Perform system upgrades, apply new releases, and patches to SAP Commerce Cloud environments.
• Write scripts for server configuration, monitoring, and other administrative tasks to increase operational efficiency.
• Provide ongoing technical support to development and QA teams, including on-call assistance to address production issues and support during testing and release phases.
• Stay updated with the latest trends in DevOps platforms and best practices to continuously improve operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in Azure DevOps engineering.
• Proven experience with cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure and related services (Azure App Services, Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Functions).
• Strong knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools and concepts.
• Azure DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400) certification preferred.
• Experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and DevOps pipelines.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong experience with Azure DevOps tools (Pipelines, Boards, Repos, Artifacts).
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proficient in scripting languages like PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Familiar with monitoring tools like Azure Monitor, Application Insights, or similar.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Knowledge of SAP Commerce Cloud and integration with SAP ERP is a plus.
• Familiarity with Hybris Tomcat clusters, Apache web servers, and CDNs like Akami is a plus.
• Previous experience with e-commerce systems development in a corporate setting is an advantage.
• Ability to work in a globally distributed environment.
