Teradata is hiring an Associate DevOps Engineer to join its global cloud infrastructure and reliability engineering team.
You will help maintain high-availability systems, automate release management, enhance observability, and strengthen platform reliability across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure uptime: Maintain continuous availability and performance of Teradata’s LRaaS Portal.
• On-call management: Handle production escalations and ticket management with smooth shift handovers.
• Automation: Enhance release management and incident response using Python, Bash, or Ruby scripting.
• Monitoring: Improve proactive alerting, reduce false positives, and manage observability dashboards.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed runbooks, SOPs, policies, and security documentation.
• SRE Principles: Implement and monitor Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Error Budgets.
• Continuous improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance reliability, scalability, and security through automation and AI-driven tools.
• Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams — developers, QA engineers, and product managers — to address reliability and performance challenges.
• Security: Perform vulnerability assessments, observability analysis, and implement remediation actions.

Who You’ll Work With

• Cloud Operations Team: Manage site reliability for AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud (GCP).
• Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders via ServiceNow to improve observability.
• Reporting: Report to the Senior Manager, Cloud Operations.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• Experience: 2+ years in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) or DevOps roles.
• Scripting: Hands-on experience with Python, Bash, or Ruby.
• Cloud Platforms: Strong experience with Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, or AWS.
• Automation Tools: Familiarity with Ansible, Terraform, or equivalent tools.
• Build Systems: Knowledge of Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI/CD.
• Monitoring Tools: Experience with DataDog, New Relic, Nagios, Grafana, or Graphite.
• OS Expertise: Strong understanding of Linux environments.
• Database Systems: Familiarity with SQL databases, network topologies, and infrastructure security.
