About the Role

The Network Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of SITA’s network infrastructure. This includes lifecycle management, automation, observability, and optimisation across mission-critical systems. The role involves collaborating with development, operations, and IT teams to build highly available and resilient network environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end lifecycle management of network infrastructure, including planning, deployment, maintenance, upgrades, and decommissioning.
• Ensure high availability and optimal performance of network systems through proactive monitoring and capacity planning.
• Support implementation and management of disaster recovery and backup strategies.
• Automate routine operational tasks and develop tooling to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Document procedures, configurations, and operational workflows for knowledge-sharing.
• Work closely with Network Operations teams on post-incident reviews, root-cause analysis, and continuous reliability improvements.
• Analyze system performance and recommend optimizations for better resource utilization.
• Ensure compliance with network security best practices and organizational standards.
• Oversee timely deployment of security updates and patches.

Qualifications

Required Skills

• 1–2 years of experience in networking and security fundamentals:
  • Network Topologies
  • Routing Protocols
  • Switching Concepts
  • Firewalls
  • Security Protocols
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Palo Alto (Panorama)
  • Cisco
  • VMware NSX
• Knowledge of scripting / automation languages: Python, PowerShell, Bash.
• Familiarity with network monitoring and observability tools.
• Understanding of DevOps culture and practices.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, including log and data analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

Nice to Have

• Network certifications:
  • Palo Alto (PCNSA / PCCSE)
  • Cisco (CCCP / CCNA)
  • NSX (VCP)
• Knowledge of Docker and/or Kubernetes.
• Experience or understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
• Exposure to Terraform or other IaC tools.
