Job Description:
Nielsen is looking for a DevOps Engineer (AWS) to join its global technology team. You’ll work in a multicultural, high-performance environment using AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices. This role supports the media revolution by powering efficient, secure, and scalable infrastructure for in-house data coding and ETL platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure as Code (IaC):

• Use tools like Terraform or CloudFormation for consistent infrastructure provisioning
• Ensure version-controlled, repeatable infrastructure deployments

CI/CD Pipeline Development:

• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, or similar tools
• Automate build, test, deployment, and artifact management workflows

Containerization & Orchestration:

• Package apps using Docker
• Manage resilient, scalable deployments with Kubernetes

Automation Scripting:

• Write automation scripts using Bash, Python, etc.
• Implement proactive monitoring and alerting systems

Configuration Management:

• Utilize tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef to enforce environment consistency
• Apply industry best practices for configuration and provisioning

Collaboration & Communication:

• Work cross-functionally with dev & ops teams
• Ensure smooth application transitions from development to production

Security & Compliance:

• Apply cloud security best practices
• Support compliance with data protection and regulatory standards

Monitoring & Logging:

• Use Prometheus, Grafana, and centralized logging systems
• Define monitoring metrics and performance alerts

Cloud Services Management:

• Deploy and manage workloads on AWS (preferred), Azure, or GCP
• Monitor and optimize cloud costs

Disaster Recovery:

• Design and test disaster recovery plans
• Validate system resilience and business continuity

Required Skills:

• 5+ years in DevOps, Infrastructure, or SRE roles
• Strong with AWS, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes
• Proficient in CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI)
• Experience with scripting (Bash, Python)
• Familiar with Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Good understanding of cloud networking and security principles

• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
• Kubernetes Administrator Certification
• Experience with serverless computing
• Familiarity with Agile development practices
