About the Role

Nference is hiring a passionate DevSecOps Engineer to strengthen our cloud security and automation practices. This role is ideal for engineers with scripting expertise who want to grow into a Kubernetes Security Engineer (CKS) within a year.

You’ll play a key role in security automation, threat modeling, cloud security implementation, and pipeline optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement security tools and automation within the CI/CD pipeline.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of security policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with developers, operations engineers, and SRE teams for seamless security integration.
• Stay updated with the latest cybersecurity trends, tools, and best practices.
• Implement secure defaults in AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Learn and integrate cloud security tools using automation and scripting.
• Conduct container security audits and grow into a Kubernetes Security Engineer (CKS) role.

• 20% – Security Testing & Threat Modeling
• 30% – Security Automation & AI Integration
• 20% – Cloud & Container Security Implementation
• 30% – Business As Usual (alert monitoring, DevSecOps pipeline improvements, compliance)

Qualifications

• Experience: 1–3 years.
• Mandatory Skills: Bash & Python scripting.
• Strong fundamentals in web application security vulnerabilities: XSS, SQL Injection, SSRF, XXE.
• Knowledge of authentication mechanisms: SAML, OAuth, JWT.
• Must be able to build a Docker image from scratch.
• Kubernetes knowledge is a significant plus.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Exposure to CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Preferred: Contributions to open-source tools, bug bounty findings, or CVEs.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies.
