Role Overview

As a Technical Support Engineer at Michelin, you will provide 1st and 2nd-level support for applications and middleware to ensure smooth business operations. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, resolve incidents efficiently, and improve application functionality.


Responsibilities

  • Provide timely support for applications and middleware, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Respond to service requests and incidents, providing solutions or escalations.
  • Participate in the change management process.
  • Analyze root causes of incidents through problem management.
  • Perform system diagnostics, software configuration, and basic database queries.
  • Monitor application performance and perform necessary maintenance and upgrades.
  • Maintain and manage knowledge base articles and documentation for support.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve functionality and efficiency.

Technical Skills

  • Operating Systems: Proficiency in Windows and Linux.
  • Hardware Knowledge: Familiarity with servers, storage devices, and hardware components.
  • Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose and resolve software and OS issues.
  • Scripting and Automation: Skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
  • Virtualization: Basic knowledge of VMware, Hyper-V, or similar.
  • Database Management: Basic SQL knowledge and database management.

Interpersonal Skills

  • Customer Service: Strong communication skills for explaining technical issues to non-technical users.
  • Problem-Solving: Analytical approach to resolving issues efficiently.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work well with team members and other departments.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to learn new technologies and adjust to changing environments.

Additional Skills

  • Technical Documentation: Writing clear documentation for troubleshooting and procedures.
  • Security Awareness: Understanding of basic cybersecurity principles to protect systems and data.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Fluency in English (B2-C1).

Shift Structure

The support team operates 24/7, with shifts organized for continuous coverage. Shifts are typically 8 hours long and include day, evening, and night rotations. Flexibility to work weekends and holidays is required.
