Job Title – Systems Engineer – Global IT Operations Center

Role Overview

As a Systems Engineer, you will manage and support VMware ESXi infrastructure, ensuring smooth operations, high availability, and integration with storage, network, and OS teams. You will also participate in capacity planning, patch management, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and manage VMware vSphere/ESXi hosts and vCenter Server.
• Perform VM provisioning, resource allocation, and lifecycle management (creation, migration, snapshot, deletion).
• Monitor performance and capacity utilization using vCenter, vROps, or equivalent tools.
• Maintain templates, snapshots, backups, and accurate documentation.
• Collaborate with storage, network, and OS teams to ensure seamless infrastructure integration.
• Provide L2 operational support and escalation management.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience managing VMware ESXi and vCenter Server environments.
• Good understanding of virtualization concepts, resource management, and storage/network configuration.
• Proficient in patch management, performance monitoring, capacity planning, and troubleshooting VM/host issues.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, global environment.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, or holidays for 24x7 support.

Good to Have

• Experience with HyperV or Citrix VDI environments.
• Knowledge of infrastructure automation (PowerCLI, Ansible, Terraform).
• Scripting skills: PowerShell, PowerCLI, Bash.
• Familiarity with disaster recovery planning.
• VMware certifications: VCP-DCV or VCA-DCV.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
