Role Overview

As an SRE Intern, you will help ensure the availability, performance, scalability, and reliability of LeadSquared’s SaaS production environment, which is 100% hosted on AWS. You’ll work closely with DevOps, InfoSec, and Engineering teams, gaining real-world exposure to incident management, monitoring, observability, and cloud infrastructure optimization.

This role goes beyond basic monitoring—you’ll actively contribute to improving observability and system reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor availability, performance, and reliability of production SaaS systems
• Support incident management, emergency response, and timely issue mitigation
• Track incidents and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) with preventive actions
• Assist with capacity planning and cloud infrastructure optimization on AWS
• Work with customers when required to address infrastructure performance concerns
• Build and improve observability, monitoring, alerting, and automated incident response
• Collaborate with DevOps, InfoSec, and Engineering teams to enhance system reliability
• Maintain high-quality documentation for incidents, processes, and runbooks

Key Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
• 0–1 year experience or strong internship exposure in SRE / DevOps / Cloud Operations
• Hands-on knowledge of:
  • Monitoring, observability, alerts, incident management, and RCA
  • AWS services: EC2, RDS, ECS, VPC, Redis, Lambda, Elasticsearch, SQS, API Gateway
• Experience monitoring multi-tenant SaaS environments (web apps, APIs, databases, backend jobs)
• Ability to debug and troubleshoot live production incidents
• Strong understanding of SRE best practices
• Experience analyzing OS-level and application performance metrics
• Excellent documentation and communication skills
• Proactive mindset for identifying performance bottlenecks and reliability risks

Technical Skills (Tools & Technologies)

• Cloud Platform: Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Monitoring & Observability: New Relic, Grafana, SumoLogic, Loggly, Kibana
• Incident Management: PagerDuty, Site24x7, Freshservice
• Infrastructure & Services: EC2, ECS, RDS, Redis, VPC, Lambda, Elasticsearch
• CDN & Security Tools: Akamai
• Programming: Python (preferred)

Good to Have

• Programming skills in Python or similar languages
• AWS Certification / ITIL Certification
• Prior exposure to SaaS production environments
• Experience working in fast-paced, high-availability systems
