Job Overview – Associate DevOps Engineer

Kinective is hiring an Associate DevOps Engineer to join the Infrastructure/DevOps team, reporting to the Director, Cloud Infrastructure & SRE.

This role is full-time and hybrid, with 3-4 days a week in-office in Golden, CO (remote possible for non-local candidates). Working hours are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

As an Associate DevOps Engineer, you will contribute to building and managing the next generation of our data intelligence platform, supporting mission-critical operations for banks and credit unions.

Compensation: $70,000 – $90,000 per year (depending on experience, qualifications, and location).

Key Responsibilities

• Create and manage cloud infrastructure including OS configuration, software deployment, databases, and internal tools.
• Deploy internal software stacks to cloud and on-prem environments.
• Assist development teams with software, database, and network configuration.
• Maintain detailed records, monitor performance, and troubleshoot system issues.
• Collaborate with team members in fast-paced, mission-critical environments.
• Ensure efficient multi-tasking, problem-solving, and decision-making under tight deadlines.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform, Ansible.
• Containerization & orchestration: Docker, Docker Compose, Kubernetes.
• Linux command-line expertise: shell/bash, SSH, system configuration, log parsing, debugging (strace, coredumpctl, gdb).
• Experience in scripting: Shell, Bash, Powershell.
• Software deployment & configuration: system services, template languages.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools: Harness, GitLab Runners, GitHub Actions, Hydra.
• Experience with hybrid cloud and on-prem infrastructure, network configuration, OS/software deployment.
• AWS experience including EC2, VPC, and cloud service management.
• Log & performance monitoring: Prometheus, Alert Manager, Grafana, PagerDuty.
• Basic software development skills: version control, unit/integration testing, debugging; Python or Java experience is a plus.
