We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for you to take your software engineering career to the next level.

As a DevOps Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank Payments Technology team, you will be a seasoned member of an agile team, designing and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You will be responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions, supporting the firm’s business objectives.

Job Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and troubleshoot software solutions while thinking beyond routine or conventional approaches.
• Produce secure and high-quality production code, maintaining algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
• Develop architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring design constraints are met by software code development.
• Analyze and visualize large, diverse data sets for continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
• Proactively identify hidden problems in data and drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
• Contribute to software engineering communities and explore emerging technologies.
• Foster a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, with 3+ years of applied experience.
• Practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Strong Linux/Unix fundamentals, with a good understanding of subsystems such as memory, storage, and network.
• Experience with continuous integration technologies (e.g., Jenkins, Maven, Ant, Selenium, JUnit, etc.).
• Ability to map business services to reliability engineering design and review.
• Support technology and business services with a focus on scaling and performance.
• Manage uptime of microservices by building and implementing the right monitoring and alerts.
• Good understanding of object-oriented programming, relational databases, NoSQL, caching systems, etc.
• Strong problem management abilities, including automating repeatable jobs and ensuring incidents do not recur.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Familiarity with modern front-end technologies.
• Exposure to cloud technologies.
