Job Description

Guardian Life is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Data & Analytics Engineer to join the Enterprise Data & AI team. The role involves designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines to support predictive and descriptive analytics.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain robust & scalable data pipelines
• Work with business partners, data scientists & BI teams to develop data solutions
• Construct meaningful data assets from structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data
• Ensure data quality, accuracy, and integrity
• Automate end-to-end data pipelines
• Participate in data modeling and schema design
• Identify appropriate data sources for use cases
• Perform data discovery and analysis
• Develop compelling narratives from data insights
• Create and maintain a Data Dictionary
• Engage in code reviews and documentation

Skills Required

• Strong knowledge of data engineering principles and best practices
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, PySpark, and Bash scripting
• Experience with Databricks, ETL/ELT development, and Data Warehousing
• Understanding of Data Modeling, specifically Dimension Modeling
• Experience in Alteryx (preferred)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
