About the Role

HashiCorp is looking for a skilled Support Engineer for its Terraform Cloud product. This is a highly visible, customer-facing role within a growing engineering support team. You'll troubleshoot complex Terraform issues, contribute to product development, and help enterprise clients manage infrastructure at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Triage and resolve incoming customer requests via Zendesk within SLA
• Debug and reproduce issues using custom tooling or test environments
• Attend weekly product meetings and contribute feedback
• Lead or assist customer onboarding and install sessions
• Collaborate with engineering, sales, and technical teams
• Write or improve product documentation and internal knowledge bases
• Participate in on-call rotations and improve repetitive support tasks

Expectations & Goals

Within 30 Days:

• Write and apply a simple Terraform config in Terraform Enterprise
• Understand the Terraform ecosystem
• Contribute to documentation
• Handle basic Level 1 support

Within 60 Days:

• Handle Level 1 & 2 issues independently
• Assist on live customer install calls
• Deploy Terraform configs on AWS, Azure, and GCP

Within 90 Days:

• Run live installs solo
• Diagnose root causes using customer logs
• Fix small bugs or contribute minor features

Requirements

• 4+ years in Support Engineering, Software Development, or SysAdmin roles
• 5+ years in customer-facing positions
• Experience with Linux/Windows CLI, cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Strong written & verbal communication
• Familiarity with Ruby on Rails preferred
• Passion for automation, customer service, and learning new technologies

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Technical Writing, or equivalent experience.
